The Divine Call from the Heart of Kashi
For over millennia, Varanasi—the timeless city of Kashi—has stood as the terrestrial gateway to liberation. It is the sacred ground where the cosmic trident of Lord Shiva touches the earth, shielding it from the dissolution of time. Deep within the ancient alleys of this spiritual capital, where the scent of burning camphor and the continuous chanting of Om Namah Shivaya fill the air, a 150-year-old Mahadev temple has silently stood witness to generations of devotion.
Time, weathered by a century and a half of seasons, has taken its toll on this sacred sanctuary. The ancient structure, which once echoed with the resonant sounds of Vedic hymns, has weakened. Yet, the spiritual spark within its foundation remains unextinguished. Today, an extraordinary spiritual movement has begun. We are not just repairing an old structure; we are rebuilding and restoring the home of Mahadev in Kashi, constructing a magnificent new temple on this historically sanctified ground to preserve our rich heritage for centuries to come.
This is a rare, once-in-a-lifetime invitation to participate in a profound act of devotion—Shiva Kainkaryam. By helping us enshrine the sacred deities and rebuild the sanctuary, you place your family’s name at the very heart of Kashi’s spiritual landscape.
The Centre of Devotion: Sponsoring the Sacred Idols
An ancient temple derives its living energy from the deity residing in its Garbha Griha (Sanctum Sanctorum). As part of this grand restoration, we are enshrining two extraordinary manifestations of Lord Shiva along with His eternal protectors and symbols.
1. The Pristine Crystal Spatik Shivling
Sponsoring the main deity of a temple is considered the highest form of spiritual merit (Punya). Devotees have the exclusive privilege to sponsor a magnificent 1-foot Spatik (Quartz) Shivling, beautifully seated upon a premium, custom-made Granite Argha (Panavattam). The pure, light-refracting crystal represents the formless, pure consciousness of Shiva, while the solid granite base symbolises the unshakeable foundation of cosmic energy.
- 1 Foot Spatik Shivling with 5 kg Granite Argha: Available for a sacred offering of ₹65,000.
- 1 Foot Spatik Shivling with 6 kg Granite Argha: Available for a sacred offering of ₹75,000.
2. The Holy Narmadeshwar Shivling
Formed naturally over thousands of years by the sacred currents of the Narmada River, the Narmadeshwar stone is considered self-manifested (Swayambhu). It possesses an inherent, deeply calming spiritual vibration.

Every element inside the Garbha Griha holds deep metaphysical and ritualistic value. Devotees can choose to sponsor specific sacred items or crucial building components to leave a lasting spiritual legacy in their family’s name, to celebrate a milestone, or in loving memory of ancestors.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: Why is the restoration of this particular temple in Kashi so significant?
A: This temple is over 150 years old and carries generations of accumulated prayers and spiritual energy. Restoring it as a grand new temple ensures that an ancient node of devotion in Kashi is not lost to time, preserving it as a sanctuary of peace for future generations.
Q2: Can I sponsor an item in memory of a deceased family member or loved one?
A: Yes, absolutely. Sponsoring a sacred idol, such as the Spatik Shivling, or a construction asset like the Gopuram in memory of your ancestors (Pitrus) is traditionally considered an act of supreme merit that brings profound peace to their souls.
Q3: Will my name or my family’s name be recorded at the temple?
A: Yes. For major sponsorships—including the Spatik Shivling, Narmadeshwar Lingam, Nandi, and Gopuram—the names of the sponsoring families will be permanently etched onto the temple’s donor plaque or stone walls as a historical testament to their Shiva Kainkaryam.
Q4: Is my donation to the CharanVandan Foundation tax-deductible?
A: Yes, all financial contributions made toward this restoration campaign through the CharanVandan Foundation are eligible for tax exemptions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. A formal 80G tax certificate will be generated and issued immediately upon donation.
Q5: How will my funds be utilized, and how can I track the progress?
A: CharanVandan maintains a strict policy of transparent execution. Funds are directly allocated toward procuring high-grade materials (like premium granite and pure quartz) and employing skilled traditional temple artisans. Regular photo and video updates from the Kashi construction site will be shared directly with donors and posted on our official portal.
