Diwali is a time of joy, light, and togetherness. Homes shine with diyas, families gather around sweets, and the air is filled with celebration. But for thousands of poor families, Diwali passes in silence. No lamp to light, no sweets to share, no celebration to look forward to.

Meanwhile, the very artisans who have kept Diwali alive for centuries—the Kumhar families of Varanasi—struggle with unsold diyas and empty kitchens. Their art, once central to the festival, is fading as people turn to electric lights. For them, this season of light feels darker than ever.

One Donation, Two Blessings

This Diwali, Charanvandan Foundation is bringing hope to both communities. Through our initiative, we directly purchase diyas from struggling Kumhar families, giving them the livelihood they desperately need. These very diyas, along with sweets and festive food kits, are then distributed to underprivileged families living in the shadows of poverty.
