Dignity for the Forgotten – Support Leprosy Patients with Shubh Seva Samiti
Project
Be the Ray of Hope for 150+ Leprosy Patients Struggling for a Life of Dignity
Imagine Losing Everything—Your Family, Your Home, Your Job—Just Because of a Condition That’s Curable.
This is the harsh reality for thousands of people battling leprosy across our country. Leprosy doesn’t just scar the body—it takes away livelihoods, breaks apart families, and pushes people into a life of unimaginable isolation.
With disabilities making even simple tasks like holding a spoon or going to the bathroom a daily struggle, survival becomes a painful journey.
"Koi hume khana nahi deta... Koi bheekh bhi nahi deta... Bahut takleef hoti hai jab bhookh lagti hai aur hum apne liye kuch nahi kar paate..."
Their pain is real, their words are heavy. For them, even a meal is a distant dream.
“They’re shunned by society, feared like they carry a curse. No one dares to even touch them... imagine living a life like that,” says Bhola Kumar, a compassionate member of Shubh Seva Samiti.
Shubh Seva Samiti: A Lifeline for the Forgotten
Since 2019, Shubh Seva Samiti, a humble NGO rooted in Uttar Pradesh, has been standing beside over 150+ leprosy patients—most of them women—abandoned by their families, left to suffer alone in broken homes, with no jobs, no income, and no help.
Every day, they fight hunger, pain, and the crushing weight of social stigma. For these 150+ souls, survival itself has become an everyday battle.
Meet Bhola Kumar – A Lifelong Dream to Serve
Bhola’s journey of compassion began at the young age of 16, when he decided to dedicate his life to helping those who had no one. His heart ached for the suffering around him, and he knew he couldn’t turn away.
Today, at 30, Bhola and the dedicated team at Shubh Seva Samiti are the only lifeline for these patients. They provide food, basic medical care, and emotional support—helping them survive in the face of overwhelming odds.
"Kayi log aise hain jo wheelchair se kabhi uth hi nahi paate... unki aankhon mein dard hi dard dikhta hai... Jab hum unko khana dete hain toh woh bas rote rehte hain, shayad is umeed mein ki ab zindagi thoda behtar hogi..."
These patients urgently need groceries, hygiene materials, and medicines. Your help can give them a reason to hope again.
You Can Help Rewrite Their Story supported by Charanvandan
Thanks to the tireless efforts of Bhola and his team, more than 10 leprosy patients have already received life-saving support.
But this is just the beginning—there are so many more waiting for someone to care, someone to reach out, someone to help them reclaim their dignity.
This is your chance to stand by Bhola, to be part of this mission of love and humanity. Your support, however small, can change the lives of these forgotten souls—giving them not just food and medicine, but hope, a smile, and a reason to live.
