We are embarking on a sacred mission to build a state-of-the-art New Gaushala in Prayagraj — a permanent sanctuary of protection, love, dignity, and healing for our forgotten mothers. This is not just a construction project; it is a spiritual restitution, a Maha-Yagna of compassion to restore the honor of Gau Mata at the holy Sangam.

Build a Sanctuary of Grace: Construction of New Gaushala in Prayagraj
“Gavo Vishwasya Matarah” — The cow is the mother of the universe. To protect her is to protect the very fabric of cosmic order, dharma, and existence.
The Call of the Sacred Sangam
In the heart of Prayagraj, where the holy waters of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati unite, flows an eternal current of spiritual consciousness. This sacred land, revered for millennia as the king of all pilgrimage sites (Tirtharaj), has stood as a beacon of devotion, penance, and cosmic alignment. Every wave that touches the ghats of the Sangam carries the prayers of sages, ancestors, and seekers.
Yet, along the very paths where pilgrims walk in search of liberation, a silent, heartbreaking cry echoes.
Hundreds of abandoned, injured, and old indigenous cows roam the streets, vulnerable to extreme weather, traffic accidents, and starvation. Once the bedrock of our traditional homes, these gentle souls find themselves discarded when they can no longer provide milk. They are left to forage through garbage piles, ingesting deadly plastics just to survive.
The Gau Mata, in whom resides the consciousness of thirty-three crore deities, is left homeless on the very soil that celebrates the divine.
The CharanVandan Foundation refuses to look away.
Significance: Why a Gaushala in Prayagraj?
In Sanatana Dharma, Gau Seva (serving the cow) is hailed as the highest form of worship, capable of clearing lifetimes of karmic burdens. Performing this service in an auspicious Kshetra (sacred region) like Prayagraj multiplies its spiritual potency a thousandfold.
- Ancestral Peace & Pitru Tarpan: Prayagraj is the ultimate destination for honoring our ancestors. Scriptural decrees state that feeding and protecting cows on this sacred land grants direct satisfaction and elevation to our departed forefathers (Pitrus).
- The Living Temple: The Shastras declare that every part of a cow’s body houses divine cosmic energies. By building a shelter for them, you are participating in the construction of a living, breathing temple where everyday actions become direct offerings to the Divine.
- Healing and Rehabilitation: Many of the cows we rescue are victims of severe negligence, road accidents, or illegal trafficking. This Gaushala will feature a dedicated medical wing, operational recovery bays, and around-the-clock veterinary support to heal their physical wounds and soothe their traumatized spirits.
Inside the Blueprint: A Modern Sanctuary Grounded in Tradition
This Gaushala is thoughtfully designed to provide the highest standard of living, nutrition, and medical attention for our rescued cows. Your contribution will directly build the infrastructural foundations of this holy sanctuary:
1.Land Development & Earthwork:Phase 1: Foundation.
Securing, leveling, and fencing the sacred site to create a secure, predator-proof perimeter where the cattle can freely roam without fear.
2.Constructing Weatherproof Shelters:Phase 2: Housing.
Building spacious, well-ventilated, high-roof sheds designed to shield rescued cows from the scorching summer heatwaves and severe winter chills of the Indo-Gangetic plains.
3.Medical Bay & Veterinary Clinic:Phase 3: Healing.
Setting up an isolation ward, treatment blocks, and emergency medical equipment to handle critical surgeries, accident recoveries, and specialized care for pregnant or disabled cows.
4.Fodder Storage & Water Infrastructure:Phase 4: Nourishment.
Establishing a massive Chara Godam (fodder warehouse) alongside heavy-duty borewells and clean, continuous concrete water troughs to ensure zero shortage of fresh food and pure water.
The Spiritual Weight of Your Contribution
When you donate to the construction of the Prayagraj Gaushala, you are not merely buying bricks, cement, or steel. You are embedding your name into a legacy of eternal protection. Every square foot of shelter you fund becomes a shield against adversity for your family.
“Shatam Gaah Pradadaati Yah, Ekam Cha Kapilaam Shubhām… Ubhou Tou Tulya Phaladou, Vidhiyate Na Sanshayah”
He who protects or gifts a single vulnerable cow earns the spiritual merit of performing complex celestial rituals.
Imagine the profound grace of a rescued mother cow resting peacefully under a roof you built, drinking clean water from a source you provided, and grazing safely because of your kindness. Her silent blessings carry a frequency of gratitude that transforms lives, invites prosperity, restores health, and brings deep emotional tranquility into our homes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Where exactly is this Gaushala being built in Prayagraj?
The sanctuary is located on a serene plot of land near the outskirts of Prayagraj, easily accessible for veterinary emergency transport and carefully situated away from chaotic city traffic to ensure a peaceful, natural environment for the rescued cattle.
- What kinds of cows will be kept at the new Gaushala?
We focus primarily on abandoned, old, stray, non-milking, and critically injured indigenous (Desi) Indian cow breeds. These are the animals most vulnerable to abandonment and cruelty on the streets.

- How will the funds be used for the construction?
Every single donation goes directly into structural material procurement (bricks, cement, steel rods, roofing sheets), labor costs for constructing the sheds, drilling the deep water wells, setting up the veterinary clinic, and stocking initial feed stores.
- Can I visit the Gaushala once it is built?
Yes, we warmly welcome our family of donors to visit the sanctuary. You can meet the cows you helped save, participate in direct Gau Puja, and see the concrete impact of your generosity firsthand.
