No elder, no porter, no child, no roadside family across Dharali’s hamlets should shiver through the cruelty of winter.

The Winter Nights of Dharali Are Sacred — and Severe

The quiet woods, the distant temple bells, and the starlit ridges hide a reality that appears when the temperature falls:

Elders sleeping on stone floors with thin wraps,
Porters and daily-wage workers resting in sheds without warmth,
Children living in single-room homes with only torn sheets,
Mothers huddling with little ones through the long mountain night and
Seasonal migrants caught outdoors between jobs

They endure the night, praying for the first light.

This year, Charanvandan Foundation (with KindKarma Foundation) is executing one of its most focused winter missions:

Reaching Dharali and neighbouring hamlets (Harsil, Bagori, Jhala),
Identifying elders, porters, seasonal workers, single-parent families, and roadside dwellers,
Distributing high-quality winter blankets,
Providing additional woollen shawls and sweaters where needed and
Conducting late-night rounds when the cold is harshest
Our volunteers move home-to-home, lane-to-lane, carrying warmth on their shoulders.
This is not charity—
this is humanity.
