Support Anndaan Seva during Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri
Jagannath Rath Yatra is one of the most sacred and celebrated festivals in India, observed annually in Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha. It marks the grand procession of Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple in majestic wooden chariots. Millions of devotees gather from every corner of the country to pull the chariots and catch a glimpse of the Lord, believing that even one sight can cleanse lifetimes of sins.

According to legend, Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu, comes out of his sanctum once a year to give darshan to the common people. This journey to his aunt's home (Gundicha Temple) is symbolic of divine compassion reaching out to humanity. It is said that those who help pull the Lord’s chariot attain eternal blessings and liberation.
Why Anndaan Matters During Rath Yatra
The pilgrimage to Puri during Rath Yatra is an intense spiritual experience, but it is also physically demanding for the thousands of sadhus and devotees who travel long distances, often barefoot and without basic necessities. Providing them with nourishing meals, water, and rest is not just service—it is an act of deep devotion.

In Sanatan Dharma, Anndaan (the act of offering food) is considered the most selfless form of charity. It not only satisfies the body but also nourishes the soul. Offering food during a sacred yatra amplifies its merit manyfold, as it supports those who have come solely for divine connection.
Our Seva Initiative
CharanVandan, in association with Hope is Life Charitable Trust, is organizing a large-scale Anndaan initiative during this year’s Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri. Our mission is to serve meals, drinking water, and basic support to those who come to be part of this divine event. Volunteers will prepare and distribute food at multiple locations, ensuring no devotee is left hungry or unsupported.
