A Community Forgotten for Generations

In the remote corners of eastern Uttar Pradesh lives the Musahar community—a group historically trapped in poverty and social exclusion. For decades, they have survived on the margins of society, with little or no access to clean water, food, or education. Their lives are marked by deprivation, neglect, and an endless cycle of suffering.

The children of this community bear the worst of it. Severely malnourished, with no access to schools or healthcare, they spend their days in survival mode, often without even a single wholesome meal. With dreams silenced before they can take shape, they have known nothing but hunger and hopelessness.

But change is possible. And it begins with them.

Hunger, Poverty, and Exploitation: The Harsh Reality

For Musahar families, life is a constant struggle. With no land of their own and little access to steady work, most men are forced into daily wage labor or bonded work, leaving families without income for months at a time. This directly impacts children, who grow up in unhygienic conditions, without nutrition, vulnerable to illness, child labor, trafficking, and early marriages.

Since 2022, Charanvandan Foundation has been walking hand-in-hand with the Musahar community. Our mission goes beyond immediate relief—we are planting seeds of transformation.

• Daily Nutrition: Over 150 children are served wholesome cooked meals, milk, and biscuits every single day.
• Grocery Kits: Families receive monthly ration kits, ensuring that children continue to have access to food at home.
• Education & Skills: Children are encouraged to attend school while being guided towards life skills and basic hygiene practices.
• Parental Support: Parents are taught how to provide better nutrition and care, empowering them to nurture healthier families.

The change is slow but visible—children are healthier, more are attending school, and families are beginning to dream again.
